It’s always fun to hear about a party theme and figure out the best way to decorate the cupcakes. These are just a sample of character cupcakes I created in the past few weeks for birthday celebrations. Star Wars, Angry Birds, Ninjago, Princesses…the sky is the limit!

Harry Potter-Pops

My nine year old recent finished the first two Harry Potter books, and is in the middle of the third one. While we wait to watch the movies, I thought a great way to celebrate would be with Harry Potter Pops!

There’s magic involved in a lot of the cake pops – Professor McGonagall’s transformation, along with Padfoot’s – but my favorite is the gift from Harry’s parents. Do you see it?

Soccer Celebrations

My son celebrated the end of his fall soccer season with the team recently and these were his Cyclone-themed cupcakes.

Each player received a personalized jersey, as well as the coaches and team manager. The manager’s cupcake is gluten-free, in addition to being dairy/egg/nut-free.

All of the parents and siblings enjoyed chocolate soccer balls. The fact the frosting LOOKS like a cyclone is purely coincidental

Can’t wait for the spring season!!

I love anything related to superheroes – and I’ve only encouraged it with my six year old Spiderman fan. So, when a friend told me to “geek out” for her son’s 4 year old party, I knew I was going to have fun with these cupcakes.

I included the ever-popular Batmobile (the birthday boy’s favorite) and some of his favorite superheroes. The “N4″ cupcake is his initial and age, designed in the same style as the “R” for Robin.

I got a big hug for these cupcakes and a “wow” from my own son, so I have a feeling I’ll be making these again in 2012!

CAPcakes and Football.

My son’s 9th birthday was this past week and I knew his cupcakes would be sports-themed. Last year I did the Steelers field for his classroom celebration and this year he requested the Washington Capitals. These were dairy-free as well, for one of his classmates.

For his slumber party he wanted to do his favorite college team – University of Maryland – and incorporate the state flag. He loves the state flag and even painted his room in the same colors. Cupcakes and football – that’s who he is!

11/11/11 Weddings

I was honored to be a part of two different weddings on a very popular date: 11/11/11.

One bride selected chai latte cake pops and mini s’mores cupcakes to hand out as wedding favors. Her colors were purple and teal, so I made sure to use similar colors in the dipping and packaging.

Another bride requested a few vegan and gluten-free cupcakes for her guests. The bridal party wore royal blue and white, so these were personalized for the happy couple.

Teddy Bear Picnic

Carla’s daughter celebrated her 5th birthday this weekend with a Build-A-Bear party at her house. The best way to celebrate was with teddy bear cupcakes! The rosy cheeks were the birthday girl’s favorite!
